Bald eagle on 9/10

On a day when the streets of nearby Washington teemed with machine gun-toting officers and traffic diversions to ward off any 9/11 weekend terror, a juvenile bald eagle entertains photographers on the grounds of the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria. The Memorial is a good place to visit to daydream about the father of his country– or to hang out when waiting for a train back to Charlottesville from the visible-in-background Alexandria Union Station.
