Most protester arrests: Sixteen are hauled away by police November 30 when the they failed to vacate Lee Park.

Most tragic hunting trip: Waynesboro teen Travis B. Smith, 18, is killed when his father's gun accidentally goes off as he's unloading it at the end of a day of hunting December 3 in West Virginia, according to the News Leader.

Most eager to not work with Trump: Lawyers from Cook, Heyward, Lee, Hopper & Feehan of Glen Allen claim they've been stiffed by Donald Trump and ask federal Judge Norman Moon to release them from representing him, according to Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Bank of America is suing two Trump entities over his assertion of right of first refusal on Albemarle House, which the bank took over earlier year. A Trump representative calls the law firm's work "disappointing."

Worst first date: A Ruckersville man is bashed on the head with a bottle and gets 20 stitches following a date with Lauren E. Faudree, 20, of Bumpass. According to the News Leader, Faudree said she was fending off a sexual assault at 5am November 15; the 38-year-old man said he was asleep on the sofa. Faudree is charged with malicious wounding.

Worse than having a dirty house? Nicole Jimenez Mondragon, 26, of Troy has been charged with grand larceny, B&E, petit larceny, forgery and uttering, and police are asking people who've used her house-cleaning services to let them know if valuables or checks are missing. Also arrested: alleged accomplice Joey Ray Marshall, 28, of Albemarle.

Latest to draw the ire of the Jefferson Area Tea Party: Last week, chairwoman Carol Thorpe again blasted City Council's handling of Occupy Charlottesville. This week, she calls on George Allen to retract and apologize for claiming the endorsement of Virginia Tea Party Patriots. She also sends out a release demanding that all nine U.S. Senate candidates be included in a December 7 debate rather than just Allen and Tim Kaine.

Latest use of taxpayer funds to stifle entrepreneurship: Larry Turner, 39, of Louisa is convicted November 30 of growing more than 100 pot plants in his garage and drying another couple of hundred in an upstairs bedroom. He faces 30 years in prison, according to a release from the Louisa Commonwealth's Attorney Office.

Latest Grammy nomination: Faber resident Christopher King gets his fifth nomination, this year for best historical album, both as producer and mastering engineer, for The Bristol Sessions, 1927-1928: The Big Bang Of Country Music. He won a Grammy in 2002.

Best showing for UVA creative writing grads: Two MFA alums make the New York Times Top 5 Fiction Books of 2011– Chad Harbach for The Art of Fielding and Eleanor Henderson for Ten Thousand Saints.

Best numbers: Charlottesville High's 2008 dropout rate of 20 percent has dropped to five percent, and disciplinary referrals have plummeted from 4,000 to 700, NBC29 reports. The reason, says principal Thomas Taylor, is reinforcement of positive behavior.

Best get: Television journalist Katie Couric, UVA class of '79, will be the commencement speaker for UVA's class of 2012.

Best citizen: Martin Burks, J.F. Bell Funeral Home manager and chairman of the Jefferson School Foundation board, is the recipient of this year's Paul Goodloe McIntire Citizenship Award.

Best coach: Mike London is named ACC coach of the year after UVA's 8-4 season and second place ACC Coastal Division finish.

Biggest bonus: London picks up $25K for being named coach of the year and $75,000 for taking the Cavaliers to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta. That's on top of his $1.7 million annual salary, all part of his five-year contract, Brendan Fitzgerald reports for C-ville Weekly.
