$530K could be better spent on local radio

Just found the page I tore out and meant to comment on a couple months ago [May 3: "Air apparent:  History Guys' prep for weekly launch"] It was very disconcerting to see a full page devoted to this and their $530,000 budget for one program including "six full time... a part-timer...several consultants" when at the same time WTJU was airing a fundraiser trying to raise $40,000 as part of their annual budget that is far less than this one program and also almost 100 percent local radio almost all the time.

Local community radio will become more critical as time goes on and more media and power become consolidated.
