Sing out at the Jefferson

Delta Rae, the so-called alt-pop-Americana band, are the result of three siblings who shuffled around between Durham, North Carolina, San Francisco, Nashville, Tennessee, and Marietta, Georgia in their youth, and grew up musically on the likes James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, and Paul Simon–-the music that was really great in the 70s, and still is. You'll find hints of gospel, bluegrass, blues and pop in their music, but you'll also find a literary element, and attention to the story of America, both west and east coast, and the story of its music.

Where is the love?

A few weeks ago, Moore, Oklahoma and the surrounding areas were devastated by one of the largest tornado disasters in history. Many towns were literally flattened, leaving the city in shambles, and the families without a home. A total of $2 billion in damage was estimated from this natural disaster.
Now, our only duty is to help the victims any way we can. 
The Jefferson Theater and local band, Love Canon, are joining forces on Friday, for Show The Love, an event that incorporates live music and community support to lend a helping hand to our fellow Americans. Love Canon will be joined by special guest Carl Anderson and the Derricks, featuring Luke Wilson. A portion of Show The Love ticket sales, as well as donations collected throughout June at each Jefferson Theater show, will be donated to the United Way of Central Oklahoma relief fund. Your donations will directly benefit the recovery and rebuilding of that region that was so profoundly impacted by the tornado.
VIP tickets include entrance to a pre-show cocktail reception, a special acoustic performance and a "meet and greet" with Love Canon. Please, join them in this great cause and help those who are in dire need at this time.

Sunsets at Carter Mountain

Starting this spring, Carter Mountain has decided to really take advantage of their gorgeous panoramic views. Their newest tradition called Sunsets on Carter Mountain, which began on May 23, will take place every Thursday night until 8:30pm.
This weekly event is sure to cater to all your romantic desires. You can stroll through the orchard and pick your own fruit when it’s a little cooler and a little darker (wink, wink), or shop in their Country Store, grab some legendary apple cider donuts and dinner from the Mountain Grill.

Nothing says romance like wine, music and a sunset. Head into the Carter Mountain Wine Shop for wine tastings, then lean over the deck and listen to live music while watching a picturesque sunset. This Thursday's live performance will be by Haze and the Transients, a local, upbeat, folk band based out of Richmond .
Dinner at the Mountain Grill will include culinary favorites such as pulled pork BBQ, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fruit and cheese platters and various sides.

 Country music, straight out of Los Angeles

Gary Allan may be from SoCal, but he's got the style and reputation of a county star plucked right out of Nashville.
Born Gary Allan Herzberg, his debut in the country music scene came in 1996 with the release of his single "Her Man" on the album Used Heart for Sale. Since then, Allan has released nine studio albums and four hits that reached number one on  Billboard's Hot Country Songs.
The New York Times describes his music as, "elegant, often deadpan songs [that] tend toward manly understatement." His influences include Buck Owens and Merle Haggard and his voice is considered soulful and unpolished sounding.
Allan's show at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion will open up with Ashley McMillen, a country-inspired singer-songwriter who was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. McMillen is best known for her powerful vocals and extraordinary song-writing.
