Thrillered: VA Book fest tix on sale

Sure, the 2011 Virginia Festival of the Book is a few months away, but tickets to certain events are already available. Can you say stocking stuffer?

For instance, tickets are available to see Kathy Reichs, author of the numerous thriller novels featuring Temperance Brennan, which form the basis of the hit Fox TV series Bones, of which Reichs also serves as producer. Reichs will speak at the Book Festival’s “Crime Wave” Luncheon on March 19, 2011 at the Charlottesville Omni.   Spiders Bones is her most recent book. Tickets are $50 and on sale at vabook.org.

Then there's David L. Shenk, author of The Genius in All of Us: Why Everything You’ve Been Told About Genetics, Talent, and IQ is Wrong. Shenk will speak at the Festival’s Leadership Breakfast, formerly known as the Business Breakfast, held on March 16 at the Charlottesville Omni. Tickets are $30 at vabook.org.
