A hurricane in the Midwest ? Heard this referred to as a stormagedon, truly bizarre weather pattern, sweeping the midwest and headed our way - "atmospheric pressure as low as a Category 3 hurricane "

AN UNSEASONABLY MOIST AIRMASS IN PLACE OVER THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE REINFORCED BY SUSTAINED SOUTHERLY WINDS TONIGHT. AN UNUSUALLY POTENT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE NORTH-CENTRAL UNITED STATES ALSO WILL MAINTAIN ITS STRENGTH THROUGH TONIGHT.
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT AS UPWARD MOTION INCREASES COINCIDENT WITH A VERY STRONG LOW-LEVEL JET. WIND FIELDS WILL SUPPORT ORGANIZED LINEAR STORMS CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND NOCTURNAL TORNADOES. THE BEST CHANCES FOR SEVERE WEATHER DEVELOPMENT WILL BE AFTER 10 PM.

I don't think there's anything wrong with giving people a head's up when a potentially damaging and/or unusual weather system is headed our way. This storm spanned about 800 miles and was *very* unusual in terms of structure, and there hasn't been one like it in over 70 years. Wisconsin reported the lowest barometric pressure ever measured for that region. There were winds and low pressure akin to a hurricane, and much damage in the midwest as a result. Had the media *not* said anything as this storm made its way east then I would seriously question that. There's no harm with a head's up to bring people's attention to things. Many people don't pay attention to what's going on around them or with anything outside their immediately little reality bubble.
Fierce winds demolished three homes and injured 11 people in North Carolina. I wonder if those people had any warning that this activity was possible?
At least the Charlottesville Hookers can say they were warned if the same winds had hit our area.

Rain may be coming Tuesday! A 50% chance! This is the best possible news for Democrats. Rain will depress voter turnout where people have to get in their cars and drive a long distance and find parking and get out of their cars and run inside to vote. Rural areas, to our south, where Hurt is strongest. But here in Charlottesville most of us walk to the polls in our own neighborhoods. Rain is no big deal. Okay Hawes get out your crystal ball and predict the outcome of the election, and thus the future of the country, based on the weather five days from now.
Oh. I figured this was a story about 11th-hour campaign stops thru Hooville.
