SNL worker goes on Jeopardy!

news-jeopardy-nickgorski Charlottesville area resident and SNL Financial reporter Nick Gorski appeared on–- and nearly won–- the March 15 airing of Jeopardy! He was in the lead going in to the final round: "In 1875, she wrote, "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe."

"I recognized immediately from the clue that the answer was the woman who founded Christian Science," Gorski explains in a release, "but I could not for the life of me remember her name. I struggled to come up with anything beyond 'Mary' for about 28 of the 30 seconds, before finally scrawling 'Reddon' down at the end."

The correct question: Who is Mary Baker Eddy?

My fellow Church members were glad to see that 2 of the 3 contestants did know Mary Baker Eddy's name and attributed the quote to her and the third contestant came very close!

Ouch --so close , if Charlottesville wants a jeopardy winner I vote for Hawes Spencer to appear --how about it Hawes ?--after the Hook aced Wordplay 2 years in a row, think you need a bigger pond.

A Hook reporter (a member of the Hook Wordplay team last year) was on Jeopardy and lost too.
