My word! If snark were a fatal disease, we'd all be terminal right now.

Thank Goodness!!!!!! It is definitely a great strategy to let your farm go to foreclosure and look like and idiot. Now that the paper trail is established that he has paid one could imagine that he will now pay the IRS, Merrill Lynch,Sotheby's,Christie's,Silverton (SFG), the contractors, the developer and everyone else he owes.

Maybe Minor should have watched the show after the Super Bowl about Waste Management. He might learn how to deal with people a lot better. But a lifetime of being a jerk is not likely to change anytime soon.

Stayed white out later?

What does that mean? We've had Daylight Savings Time around here ever since I can remember.

I guess GSOE likes the old times when it stayed white out later.

Here's what the mall was like before it grew bricks and had to be closed to motorists.

But of course, the town was much smaller. And it was before all the northern folks wanting to escape crowds and crime moved into town too.

So now will you put Halsey on the cover with a halo and wings?>

I know I will sleep better now.

Well, gee. Thank goodness, Mr. Minor! We were all sooo worried about your sprawling estate, given the massive blight on the downtown mall that you've created for the rest of us. How about making good on that little project?

The older aged bricks looked better in my opinion.
Well then I guess it's good that your opinion doesn't matter, eh GSOE?

The mall is nothing more than a massive blight itself.

And I don't blame the county for raising cain over the current revenue sharing agreement when the city throws $7 million dollars down the drain on new bricks for it. The older aged bricks looked better in my opinion.

But, back to Halsey Minor... I have been telling you people he has access to loads of money when he needs it. Why people continue to believe he has pissed away $323 million is comical at best.

You know gasbag it is about opinion, I am an upstanding taxpayer and I enjoy the downtown mall a lot. There was a little bit of time that it was getting sketchy I know but towards the end of the summer last year I noticed a larger police presence and it definitely helped. I understand that some people may not like some of the people down there but for me its an interesting array of life...takes all kinds.

Notice that the lawyers are keeping mum? That's because Halsey got away with murder, or the financial equivalent of murder. Mark Giles' second mortgage faced utter extinction when the first mortgagor threatened foreclosure. Giles would have lost every penny of his million dollars, since the first mortgage has priority and selling Halsey's farm would nowhere near cover the first mortgage. Facing that threat, how many pennies on the dollar did Giles finally settle for? Twenty cents on the dollar? Thirty? Only the lawyers know for sure.

I guess so.

But at least the property I own in the county is now 100% tax exempt. It's not like I kicked in anything even if the city did use the county revenue sharing money to foot the bill.

And you do know I lied? I didn't like the old brick or the new brick. I liked the mall when it was a one way street with parking on both sides. Which actually brings up another good point. Who in their right mind would want to stay in the new hotel on the mall when they have to park blocks away in an unsecured parking garage, get their car broken into, and walk through gangs of wannabe thugs to get back to the hotel? This of course is not an opinion, it's a fact. Perhaps Halsey Minor finally realized this and didn't want to finish the hotel?

Furthermore, with the Omni Hotel and the new hotel being 2 blocks from each other, it's about as crazy as building a Walmart and K-Mart next to each other. Burger King and McDonalds might be able to get by with it, but hotels would simply split the business in half with each other.

I hate to say it Gasbag I agree I hated and still hate that they allowed the second hotel on the mall. I was not around when there was driving on the mall but it was one of the reasons why I moved here and it is one of my favorite things about the town. I am pretty young and I do lie the nightlife too....however I do not stay at a certain bar downtown too late bc it gets a real rough...

WoW .. now that is certainly worthy news! Give him a dog bone as a reward!

Will he get a haircut now
