Albemarle Supervisor Sally Thomas, an avid fighter for rural preservation who came to office on that most unlikely of methods–- a write-in campaign–- will be celebrated Monday, December 14, at the County Office Building in Charlottesville. The event recognizing her 16 years of service takes place from 3-5pm, with refreshments throughout, and speeches and a presentation at 3:20pm. Though some of Thomas' work appears to be suddenly unraveling these days–- such as putting growth in the growth area (if Biscuit Run conks out) and building a giant reservoir (again, if Biscuit Run conks out)–- voters in the Samuel Miller Magisterial District have known Thomas as an avid student of the issues and an eager enforcer of the 'neighborhood model' for development.

Thanks for all you accomplished Sally. The County and the City are better places to live, in large part, because of your hard work.

Talk about aging in place. Looking at the picture the BOS sure has taken a toll. Hope she gets to recuperate

Sally didn't mind taking away someone else's property rights; she took care of those who got here first.

I wonder if Sally is thinking about this now ?

Didn't always agree with Sally; but always had great respect for her.
I have every confidence we haven't heard the last of her.
Thanks for all you did
