Wash portal rises

Over on Old Ivy Road, a new futuristic car wash is taking shape, which will eventually look like this.

Owner Matt Bascomb, who also owns Clean Machine Car Wash on Pantops, hopes the new high-tech car wash will be open by the end of November. In the meantime, he says the unusual architecture has been drawing a lot of attention.

“There have been a lot people stopping by and taking pictures,” he says.
