Springsteen returns to JPJ in May
The Boss is back. Less than a year after their sold out gig at the John Paul Jones Arena, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced today that they will return to the JPJ for a show on May 5. saw bruce at JPJ last year. Have seen him about 40x total and about 15x since he came back in 2000. JPJ crowd was one of best i saw on last 2 tours, but Bruce was not at the top of his game at the last JPJ show. still a good concert, better than many other artists, but was not up to the level of his usual self. i would pay to hear him sing the ABCs, but the new album is a B-, really nothing special.
If this guy succesfull to get this run. Can he perswade someone to get a non stop auto train from Lorton Virginia
to California. We need this bad. At least once a week trial
WE Need more Rail Transportation, with highways & air over ceowded. The Post Office should get back to trains, to dave energy and cost as well as support passenger rail. Because of mail routings and terminal delays. air mail is not faster then rail mail before the 1960's. Plane mail now is 5 days coast to coast, as was rail mail. We do not have a lot of trains today because the goverment supported the compition (air highway and even boats freight hauling). The RAILS time has come AGAIN
Yes, we do need more developed passenger rail transportation, similar to that in Europe or, at least, countries such as Russia, China, or India. But this takes time, investments, and commitment. At this point, it is essential to protect what we have, that is Amtrak. And we should increasingly make John McCain aware of it. He is known as Amtrak "critic" (read: enemy). Especially now that he is looking for our votes.
Where railroad transportation needs the help and what workes the best is to redefine and create a fare federal diesel and gas fuel tax that would help out the freight and passenger railroads. The railroads would be exempt from this fuel tax for there own locamotives. That would be force the trucking industry to move more trailers on railroads and get them off the interstate.But with this exeption railroads need to freeze there prices aswell so trucks can still make a profit.These taxes would be a permenent fix to get people out of there cars and on more commuter and amtrack trains
