Murder suspect picks up another charge

Alvin Lee "Butch" Morris was in court again this morning, adding a murder-during-the-course-of-a-robbery charge to the three other felonies he faces in the 1988 slaying of Roger Shifflett, the Daily Progress reports. Morris, shown here at an earlier court date, is pictured with Shifflett's widow, Barbara, whom he married shortly after Roger Shifflett was shot execution style at the Southwind Gas and Grocery on Route 20 south.
