PHOTOPHILE- Bike bash: The buzz on motor scooterphiles

Close to 50 riders showed off their motor scooters and driving skills at the 2006 Dogwood Delirium Scooter Rally, a multi-day fandango co-sponsored by two area scooter clubs, the Foulers of Charlottesville and the Powhite Trash of Richmond.

Many participants pitched tents at the Heavenly Acres campground in Stanardsville on Saturday, April 29, then rode the 15 miles into Charlottesville for lunch and a low-speed obstacle course at the local Vespa dealership, recently redubbed Moto Virginia.

While it wasn't exactly harrowing, some riders found the course a challenge– a few parked cars and people were lucky to escape unscathed.

"Some of us are pretty hung over," one attendee explained.

"Rallies are a good way to meet people with similar interests," says Tracy Bedsole, presumably referring to the biking.
