CORRECTIONS- Wrong award, not 'Society,' spelling, Bishop

• In our May 18 "Hotseat" feature, we mentioned that a book edited by VQR editor Ted Genoways for the Minnesota Historical Society Press won the National Book Award. Oops. The book, Packinghouse Daughter: A Memoir, actually won one of the 14 American Book Awards in 2001. (Established in 1978 by the Before Columbus Foundation, American Book Awards emphasize multicultural literary achievements by contemporary American authors.)

• In our June 8 news story, "Pharmed out: Gehrig treatment gains support," the last name of Knopp Neuroscience's CEO was misspelled. He is Michael Bozik.

• Also, the American Humane Association was incorrectly identified in last week's "Animal acts: Evan's diverse cast."

CLARIFICATION

Our June 8 story, "Two parties: Debate follows tragic deaths," identifies Earl Bishop, grandfather of Brittany Hope Bishop, as the titleholder to the Bishop Hill Road property where 11 Albemarle High students were arrested May 19 following the death of Nolan Jenkins. According to an obituary, Earl Bishop died October 3, 2005.
