LETTER- Don't water brown grass

Please run a correction to the last sentence of "News Shorts" about record water use ["Record water use leads to warning," August 31]. Browning grass is not "already dying." It is this misperception that causes people to use yet more water than they need because they feel they must save their grass. The browning grass is only going dormant, and it will revive with the advent of rain. It is extremely important for people to recognize this fact.
