The house was purchased in 1973 for $8,500. According to city preservation planner Mary Joy Scala, there are a few over-100-year-old houses in Fifeville listed as IPPs [individually protected properties]. However, despite a recent survey that listed its construction date as 1890, this house is not one of them.
