LETTER- Beware, be aware

As the Hook readers may have noticed, the Thomas Jefferson Health District recently circulated flyers on pandemic influenza (also known as pan flu) in this paper.

At this time there is no flu pandemic, but it is recognized as one type of emergency our community could face. For that reason, we want the public to be informed, including learning steps we can all take to prepare should a flu pandemic come to our community.

Please note that the seasonal flu we are experiencing now is different from a flu pandemic. The flyer contrasts the difference. For more information, call your local health department or visit pandemicflu.gov.
