MY RIDE- Sundhari Tolton: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Growing up in Nelson County, Sundhari Tolten says that the four-wheel drive on her Jeep Grand Cherokee was a must, not only for "getting around in bad weather," but also for driving on back roads and "going to field parties."

Her favorite thing about the Jeep, however, is its plush red interior. "It's the first thing anybody comments on when they get in," she says. In fact, she likes it so much she even gave it a nickname: The Hot Redness.

Even though her Jeep has over 300,000 miles on the odometer, it's still running. Tolton says the only major problem is something she aptly dubbed "the death shake," a terrifying occurrence where the steering wheel begins shaking uncontrollably if she hits a bump while driving faster than 45 mph.

Although gas prices are a huge pain, Tolton feels "safer in a big car," and also just loves the feeling of being up so high while she's driving.
