CORRECTION- O'Connell's an opponent

Last week's story, "Open tap: Dam firm continues to drain city coffers," mischaracterized Rivanna board member and Charlottesville City Manager Gary O'Connell as a "dredging proponent." Actually, O'Connell has been quite consistent in his opposition to dredging.

And knowing the truth, I read it as "opponent." Funny how that eye-brain connection works. Of course, Spendthrift O'Connell and his twin, Overrun O'Connell, are for the most expensive option. It's interesting that for years the city has added a 10% contingency fund to every capital project. Now, it's adding 25% and he's still coming in over budget.
