EDITOR'S NOTE- Insanely committed foodies, take note

The Washington Post recently noted that Charlottesville's "insanely committed foodies" ensure that we have "more restaurants per capita than any city in Virginia, or possibly France."

But the Hook noticed there's one thing Charlottesville doesn't have. Until now, anyway. That's a publication willing open its wallet (and its mouth) to commission undercover dining at area restaurants and offer readers a candid peek at the plates and flavors that make this such a food-lover's town.

In this week's Dining section, intrepid gourmand Ned Oldham kicks off a new era in local food history– with a review of Maya, a year-old restaurant on West Main Street.

We hope you'll eat it up!
