Although some voters reported waits of up to an hour at local polling places in the early morning hours of Tuesday November 4, most zipped in and zipped out, helping usher in a new political era and creating what now appears to be a major upset in the Fifth District Congressional race between favored incumbent Virgil Goode and challenger Tom Perriello [see cover story.]
