LETTER- Nobody predicted Goode's fall

[Re: June 26 story, "Lifeline to Larry: Will Congress save Sabato's program"]:

Larry Sabato has to be ranked among the leading political scientists in the US. His predictions, including anticipation of forthcoming matters of interest exceeds the norm for economists who present themselves as more rigorous (read: more quantitave) than their colleages in the social sciences.

To suggest that Larry's forecast that Perriello would not defeat Virgil Goode because of Goode's support for Sabato's center is to ignore all of the other crystal-ballers who predicted similar results.
