This is the last issue in which the film reviews of Steve Warren will appear, as reviews from Roger Ebert will occupy his space starting in next week's issue. Warren, who lives in Atlanta and has a thriving career as an actor, has been reviewing for the Hook since the paper's inception in 2002, having been lured away from another local weekly. Reviewing isn't easy, as he reminded us in a 2009 "best of" column when he chose Up as the year's best picture with Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds #2 and The Hurt Locker #3. Box office smash Avatar didn't break into Warren's top ten, but his savvy writing and bold opinions will be missed.
