LETTER- Cover was tabloid trash

I don't often comment on the design or layout of newspapers or magazines or cereal boxes at the store. I understand that design in particular is often subjective and people can view it in many ways.

Unfortunately, I must say that I thought [the May 6] cover was not only horribly insensitive, but trashy and tasteless. It actually upset me enough to comment.

If cheap tabloids are what you are going for, I get it, cool, you've done it. But if it's not, I think you should be looking for a new graphic designer.

Anyway, in a town full of intelligent and talented people, I'm just writing to say I'm disappointed. Outside of this instance, I've frequently appreciated all of your hard work and interesting stories and thank you for that.
