LETTER- Even with Chang, no taste at Taste

I ate at the Taste of China twice when Peter Chang was there. [March 23 cover story: "The Chang effect: Wooing palates, breaking hearts— and why he left"] It was the two worst meals for myself this year.

The hot and sour soup was mostly broth, and the moo shu chicken was horrible and served to me on a dirty plate. I tried it one time after that, and they served me the dumplings like frozen ones I could have bought at Sam's.

I have eaten at the Flaming Wok probably 10 times this year and have not gotten stuck once. They have the best moo she chicken I have ever eaten; same thing goes for the hot and sour soup.

Couldn't disagree more! We went before and after the hype and had positively amazing dishes each time. To be fair, we didn't try the dishes you mentioned. Maybe you went during the peak hype period? We've certainly heard about some bad experiences when things were at their craziest.

@Tom Jakubowski: Seriously, you claim: "It was the two worst meals for myself this year". #1. A soup SHOULD be "mostly broth". #2.What do you mean: You "have eaten at the Flaming Wok probably 10 times this year and have not gotten stuck once."? Please Explain.

Is it proper to be including the dude's email address? Especially not obscured by using [AT] or (Dot) or other tools to prevent spiders from stealing email addresses off the net to spam?
