MY RIDE- Walker Thornton: 2007 Lexus IS 250

"I just decided I wanted a new car," says Walker Thornton, "something kind of sporty." It didn't take long for her to settle on her black Lexus sedan, which she purchased in "October or November" and which is still brand new with just 2,000 miles on the odometer.

Among the details that charmed Thornton: leather seats and touch-button ignition and locks. Plus, she says, "It goes fast, it's cool looking, and it's zippy."

Since Thornton's children are grown, she says, she didn't need a big back seat.

 "I'm divorced now, and life's a little different," she explains. "I wanted a fun car."
