PHOTOPHILE- Sealed up: Black Panther rivets UVA

Civil rights activist and Black Panther Party co-founder Bobby Seale spoke to a packed house in the auditorium of UVA's special collections library Thursday, Februrary 22.

Instead of a formal presentation, the former revolutionary offered a low-key, freewheeling account of his memories from the Black Panthers' tumultuous early years in the late '60s and early '70s. He also revealed that he hopes his story will find a wider audience on the silver screen, noting that he has been in talks with several Hollywood executives about a movie he believes will clarify what he considers misconceptions about the Panthers.

Seale, who was convicted of inciting to riot as a member of the infamous "Chicago Eight," met one-on-one with attendees when he signed books after his speech.
