MY RIDE- Nancy Cook: 1992 Buick Roadmaster

Some things never change, and this is particularly true for Nancy Cook, who has driven the same model

 since 1975.

Cook says she trades in her Buick Roadmaster station wagon for a new one every 10 to 15 years, although she admits this one is already age 16.

"I just love my car!" Cook raves. "I wish General Motors would make them again."

GM stopped producing the car in 1996, but that didn't stop Cook from purchasing another one two years ago on eBay.

"It was the first time I had used eBay, and I was very scared," says Cook, who found her car in Philadelphia.

Cook splits her time between Lake Monticello and Cape Cod, where she visits her 93-year-old mother and children. Fortunately, the Roadmaster gets roughly 23 miles per gallon, so she doesn't have to constantly pull over for gas on the 750 mile trip (a 15-hour-drive).

Another reason Cook remains loyal to the Buick is its storage space.

"It can carry anything from furniture to kayaks," Cook boasts. "It can even fit a family of five and all their ski gear, and what doesn't fit can go on top."
