LETTER- How 'bout this peeper?

In her April 19 letter: "Straight dope on peepers," Marlene Condon states, "We do not have Green Tree Frogs in our area."

The accompanying frog might disagree. This two-inch green tree frog with smug grin and racing stripe was photographed in my western Albemarle yard last October 10. Census maps based on counts of singing frogs have the species confined to Virginia's coastal plain. I would argue their extended range includes our area, but the local population is simply below the threshold detectable in a drive-by peep count.
