LETTER- Tone down sensationalism

Like others in Charlottesville, I'm delighted that this man has been caught and hope he will never be let out of prison ["Arrested! A decade after first known attack, serial rape suspect in custody," cover story August 16].

However, I'm very concerned about the innocent, not just the victims, but his family– four young children and a wife. Why do they have to see the photo of their loved one on the front of your paper? Why does his name even need to be mentioned?

I believe it's time for the media to act more responsibly and think of innocents being harmed by reporting, rather than just reporting a news coup.

Thanks for your service to the community.
