What's on TAP? Clean water for the world

Wait persons at Hotcakes, Bang!, Blue Moon Diner, College Inn, St. Maarten's, Horse & Hound, Eppie's, Duners, and The Ivy Inn, to name just a few, will soon be watering your table for a good cause: the TAP Project.

During World Water Week, March 20-26, restaurants across the country offer their customers the opportunity to pay $1 for the glass of tap water they usually enjoy for free. The money goes to fund UNICEF drinking water projects all over the world.

Did you know that 900 million people on the planet do not have access to clean drinking water? For just $1, you can buy clean water for one child for 40 days.

Last year, over 3,100 glasses of water were purchased at participating Charlottesville restaurants. This year, students at Light House Studios have again created a 30-second PSA that is airing on our local tv stations.
