Cider fest on Sundays

Rick Hood from Albemarle CiderWorks on Route 29 South reminds Dish that they'll be kicking off their Second Sunday Cider events on May 8 from 5-7pm. The MoonRats will be playing, and The Lunchbox will be selling food.

"Bring a chair or a blanket to enjoy drinking cider in the orchard," says Hood.

The CiderWorks, owned by Rural Ridge Orchard owners Chuck and Charlotte Shelton, opened in 2009 (with a big grand opening featuring Gov. Tim Kaine) and is one of only two hard cider producers in the state. Today, they have four unique hard ciders to sample.
