Whole Foods opening act

It's official. The new Whole Foods Market on Hydraulic Road will open on Tuesday, June 7. And they're planning a very un-grocery store-like line-up of events, including free tastings, live music, and tours.

They will also unveil their Cooking Charlottesville department, which features an in-store "cooking coach," and workspaces and cooking tools for demonstations and tips. And get this: the place has a pizza bar and a beer and wine pub where you can have a draft or take home some brew in a half-gallon glass growler.

Amanda Hesser, cookbook author and creator of Food 52, will also be on hand, as will the Whole Foods Market food truck, which will be serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks in the parking lot.
