BizBrief: Petit Bebe sold

Moms on the downtown mall who have come to depend on the upscale baby goods provided by Petit Bebe need not fear the recent sale, says new owner Jill Tebbenkamp.

"We don't intend anyone to notice any changes with the store," said Tebbenkamp. "We want to stay true to Kim's vision of taste and quality." Quality often comes at a price–a recent perusal of the store's website reveal a $1,200 European stroller. For those moms on a tighter budget there are wooden toys, blankets, and onesies.

Charlottesville stay-at-home mom Jill Tebbenkamp will take over day-to-day duties at the Water Street shop from previous owner Kim Kuttner.

Tebbenkamp said the time is right for her to purchase the popular baby-pampering spot.

Petit Bebe wasn't offically for sale until Kuttner made a casual comment to Tebbenkamp, a long-time fan and customer.

"It couldn't be a more perfect opportunity," Tebbenkamp said.
