It's not schwag

[Regarding the website pitch to buy "Hook schwag"]:

Guys, the proper term for gear à la rock & roll is "swag," not schwag.

It's an old seafarer's term (with Australian roots?) for "your stuff." If your spelling is intentional à la Mike Meyers' "schwing," I guess I'm not as cool as I thought.

Yours, to me, makes it sound like it came from a Yiddish/German root like schmooze or schmutz.

I know: get a life.
