Mandala mixup

Thank you for covering the wonderful sand mandala created by visiting Tibetan Buddhist monks [Culture: Walkabout: "Sand symbol: Buddhist monks bless this town," August 14].

In the future, when including photographs to accompany text, could you please use photos that are actually of the mandala of which you speak? The mandala in the photograph was not the one made here, nor was the monk in the photograph in Charlottesville. I don't even think the mandala was a Medicine Buddha mandala, which the one here was.

Please have the decency and respect to represent these events accurately, or else specifically note that the photo is of another mandala at another time and place.
