Learning curve: Boxer auctions stuff

A recent tour through the former Boxer Learning offices on the Downtown Mall revealed stuff– and lots of it.

Computers, office furniture, plants, even Sharpies, all sat as if their owners had simply up and left one day– which is, in fact, what happened when Boxer Learning downsized from its 20,000 square-foot offices last spring to smaller quarters at 230 Court Square.

Now, that stuff is going up for sale at an auction scheduled for December 11 at 10am in the old offices. Intrepid buyers can attend a preview on December 10 to pore over the goods.

The future of the high-tech company remains unknown, as representatives from Boxer Learning did not return repeated calls from The Hook.

The future of the site, however, is looking bright. "There are very exciting plans," reports the building's owner, Lee Danielson, who says he is "not at liberty" to discuss the details.

Could there be a national chain or department store returning to the Mall? Danielson's keeping mum, offering only hints. "It will be of that quality," he says, "and will be really good for downtown."

Our wallets are twitching already!
