Facelift deception?

[Re: January 22 cover story: "Extreme makover: New zoning gives Charlottesville a fresh look"]

Did anyone notice the number of vehicles in the renderings of Emmet Street and Pantops? It was four vehicles in the streets at Emmet, and five vehicles at Pantops. Is this artistic license or a frank deception?

We all know that both locations are packed with cars all day long. In fact, at both locations cars back up for half a mile in both directions for several hours every day!

Could it be that our fair city's planners expect a mythical mass transit plan to reduce traffic loads by 95 percent?

It would be funny if it wasn't so appalling.
