Gay fraternity gets okay

"We're really excited," says Anthony Whitten of Out on Rugby. After 11 months of trying to create a gay fraternity, the group was recently given the go-ahead by a key UVA governing body. On March 23, the Multicultural Greek Council agreed to let organizers establish what could be the 20th chapter of Delta Lambda Phi, a national social fraternity for "gay, bisexual, and progressive" men. Despite the name, Out on Rugby does not immediately plan to establish a house, Whitten says.
