Giddy journalists and publishing luminaries gathered at the offices of the Hook on Friday, February 8, to celebrate the first appearance of the fledgling publication, which hit the stands the previous day. Founder and editor Hawes Spencer celebrated another birth that same day: his third child, a daughter, arrived midday. After the frenzy of creating the new publication from scratch, contributors were happy to kick back, have a drink, and mingle on the back porch in the continuing warm weather.
