Worst pepper spray incident: Monticello High evacuates approximately 850 students and staff May 21. More than a dozen students are treated for respiratory symptoms and two are taken to the UVA emergency room. A male student fesses up to releasing the spray.
Worst hit and run: A Charlottesville bicycle cop is hit May 21 but is not seriously injured. Police are looking for Andrew McKinley Shelton.
Most anticipated Orange County trial: Donna Somerville's on June 17, in which she's accused of murdering her husband, Hamilton Somerville, in 2001 with a lethal dose of codeine and morphine. Because of intense publicity, jurors will be brought in from outside Orange, Olympia Meola reports in the Progress.
