A time to be naked

I couldn't help but notice the Orwellian juxtaposition of two items in the 4 Better or Worse section July 22 ["Worst decision for nude teens" and "Best reason to wear clean underwear to school"].

Let me see if I can get this straight. Children who want to go to a summer camp where they can run around naked, even when they have their parents' permission to do so, will not be allowed to in the State of Virginia– unless their parent physically accompanies them.

But the Charlottesville City Schools will be allowed to forcibly strip search our children– presumably against the child's wishes, without their parents being present, and, I'd guess, without their parents' permission.

Is this some Republican's idea of less intrusive government? I fear for our future.
