End of Fridays? Slim crowd says goodbye to season

Attendance was sparse, and cool, cloudy weather reigned on Friday, October 1, as Jimmy O set up for the last Fridays After 5 in the grassy bowl at the east end of the Downtown Mall. Although Coran Capshaw says he'll continue to offer free weekly concerts in the same spot beginning next year, various questions linger: what will become of the Charlottesville Downtown Foundation, which ran Fridays for 17 years? What will the new concert series be called? And will there be a blade of grass left after the new amphitheater is constructed?
