We have cheapies too

We would like to thank The Hook for including us in your April 28 cover story, "The cost of living...well: La dolce vita in Charlottesville."

We're flattered that when you think of living the good life in Charlottesville, you think of Scarpa. Scarpa has rightfully gained a reputation for carrying a higher-end product, but we have also carried for all of our 11 years very reasonable, value-oriented footwear such as Dansko clogs and Blundstone boots.

To that end we chose to greatly increase and move our selection of fun, comfortable, reasonably priced footwear, as well as our men's shoes, into the adjacent space last Fall, naming it The Great State Of. (That's right– funny name.)

The attached photo shows a picture of some of the more affordable flip flops we carry, Havaianas, which retail between $10-$17 a pair and come in a wide range of colors. The dog in the photo is not for sale as he is priceless.

As a side note, please recognize that with the euro continuing its climb against the dollar, many prices for products out of Europe this year are inflated. We're doing our best to source products from elsewhere, but the international exchange rate is beyond even our control.

Have a wonderful spring and summer no matter which flip-flops you choose to wear.
