Shine more light on sola

I read with interest your article in the May 12 issue of The Hook. However, having lived "off the grid" since February 1993, I was disappointed in the article's lack of depth. It was not a raving endorsement of alternative living.

There are contractors out there who are very knowledgeable and have helped dozens of people here in Central Virginia either live totally off the grid or in converted hybrid homes. The technology has advanced greatly since 1992, and while any education is better than none, I just wish you had taken a little more effort to relate the whole picture to your readers and given a more hopeful horizon for solar powered homes. We are out here if you just bother to look.
