Stylish 'Address': Beta Bridge goes Gettysburg

There's plenty of controversy about recent sprayings on Beta Bridge. But there's no ambiguity surrounding the black and white message that went up on Wednesday, September 14. Hundreds of UVA students and Charlottesville citizens contributed to the painting of the Gettysburg Address as a symbolic stand against the recent disturbing acts on Grounds.

"I conceived of the project as a metaphor for democracy," says UVA professor and project designer Sanda Iliescu. "No one person is more important than another."
