Coffee and art

Art openings abounded on Friday, February 1. The unseasonable— in fact, down right crazy— temperatures meant a busy night at The Mudhouse. Artist James Wall hosted an opening for his show of neo-naturalist compositions. Art lovers stopped in on the gallery trail. Java nuts came for fuel, and friends met as the first step in the weekend odyssey. Groups cross-pollinated: coffee drinkers chatted about art; gallery hounds enjoyed the cappuccino and good ol’ joe; and everyone flowed back out into the warm night beckoning from the Mall.

If you’re not planning to visit the galleries to see the shows opening this Friday, March 1, perhaps these images from February’s First Friday will convince you to make the rounds.
