Groping headline too flippant
I’m glad Lisa Provence chose to cover a story on the questionable penalty structure for crimes that include groping and sexual battery [June 6: “No felony: Victim wants tougher penalty for crotch invasion"].
But I’m disappointed in the choice of language for the title. “Crotch invasion?” Sounds like the dismissive term a drunk fraternity boy might use to downplay the seriousness of this spectrum of crimes.
As a newspaper, you should realize that words are powerful. I hope the Hook will use better judgment in the future.
