Troy Thornburg: "I haven't been there recently... or ever."
Hook staff
Ann Marie Smith: "It's a great place to go for a bike ride, and it's a quick trip from Charlottesville."
Hook staff
Dan Haig: "We like camping in the mountains mainly to get out of the heat for a weekend or two in the course of the summer. It's not too far from where we live, and there's bears."
I like it in the winter when less people are there.

I love everything about Shenandoah National Park. The views, scenery, landscapes, and the people we meet while enjoying the park are the reasons I love it so much.

If you haven't been to WHITE OAK CANYON, just past Syria,VA, you are missing something excellent. Should be on every parent's short list of easy day trips. Relatively easy trail through giant trees, The views are inspiring, and the swimming and playing opportunities are wonderful. Get in the car and go!!!

Our favorite part/thing about Shenandoah National Park is meeting there 18 years ago. We both worked for the National Park Service, I in Shenandoah and he on the BRP. We just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary back in June.

And, Shifflett, let's not forget the great jack-lighting. Man, you can just about take a stock trailer up there and lead Bambi right up the ramp.
