Dave & Tim announce first C'ville show since '93

It's been over 17 years since the now internationally celebrated duo known as Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds performed in Charlottesville, but they'll return August 20 for a charity show at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion. Tickets went on sale Friday for members of the Warehouse, the Dave Matthews Band fan club, and to the general public on Friday, August 5.

The duo got its start in 1993 at the now-defunct Prism Coffeehouse and last performed here on December 12 of that year at the Jefferson Theater. After a couple of years performing on the East Coast college circuit with bandmates hand-picked from Charlottesville clubs, Matthews went on to worldwide acclaim as the frontman of Dave Matthews Band, which is taking a hiatus this year from its usual relentless summertime concert tour.

Tickets for the Dave & Tim show reportedly sold out in mere minutes with various reports of frustrated would-be concert-goers.
